Side Cut Bit

Creates an under anchor cut for higher anchor loading.

OVERVIEW

The Side Cut Bit is manufactured to enhance an anchor hole drilled in concrete for adhesive anchor installation. The side cut actually cuts out an area at the invert of the drilled hole to provide a bell shape. When the adhesive cures around the embedded anchor, the bell of the resin in the bottom of the hole will not allow any movement of the anchor up and out of the hole.

INSTRUCTIONS

After the holes for anchors are drilled to the proper depth and diameter, the side cut bit is chucked into an air rock drill. The bit selected should be at least 1/2" smaller diameter than the drilled hole. Introduce the side cut bit to the bottom of the hole and with a rotating motion and move the air drill around the hole keeping the bit resting on the bottom of the hole. After a number of rotations withdraw the bit, blow out the hole with compressed air and inspect for any loose debris remaining.
