KeliGrout 101-P

KeliGrout™ 101-P is our standard KeliGrout high strength polyester resin anchoring material but packaged for horizontal, angled up and overhead applications. Like standard KeliGrout, KeliGrout 101-P has guaranteed pullout values exceeding ACI-349-85. When used in a non-vertical application a cap mechanism is installed to keep resin in place while curing. Easy-to-use, high capacity cartridges that are larger than most competitor's, decrease the labor cost of frequent changes. Easier to pump than more viscous epoxy cartridges. Can be used in sub-freezing temperatures, rainy weather or even underwater.

OVERVIEW

KeliGrout and KeliGrout 101-P is a superior high strength polyester resin anchoring material with guaranteed pullout values exceeding ACI-349-85. Both are designed to be used with rebar and threaded anchors. KeliGrout and KeliGrout 101-P are the same polyester resin, but unlike standard KeliGrout (which is packaged for vertical or angled down applications) KeliGrout 101-P is packaged for horizontal, angled up and overhead applications. The world's best construction anchoring product comes in a package to fit the application.

Since 1983, our KeliGrout resin has stood up to the rigors of time in thousands of applications. Kelken installations have withstood hurricanes such as Hugo and Andrew. It has combated the seismic forces of California's earthquakes, accepted the constant cyclical loads of light transit and crane rail systems throughout the USA, as well as internationally. We have taken the pounding wave action of the Florida Keys, and the ice flows of the Alaskan rivers. We have been installed on the Army Corps of Engineers locks during mid-winter in upstate NY. The US Navy has also used KeliGrout to anchor the cable arrestors on concrete runways in Oahu, Hawaii and Norfolk, Virginia. KeliGrout and KeliGrout 101-P are approved by the FHWA for both temporary and permanent precast concrete barrier installation on structures.

This product safely secures everything from "Jersey" barriers to "High Mast" Lighting Poles. Our products are used for anchoring 150' high energy producing windmills, light poles, high mast lighting, turbines, paper rolling equipment, crane rail, automatic rack retrieval systems and more.

INSTRUCTIONS

Information on drilled holes, surface preparation, mixing, installation, shelf life, shipping, hot weather, cold weather, caution.

Drilled Holes

Kelken recommends that all holes for anchors be made with air tools whenever possible. Pneumatic drilling cleans the hole and prepares it for easy bonding. Sinker drills will make a hole much faster than comparably priced electric tools. Holes made with hollow bits will need only an air blowout FROM THE BOTTOM UP using an air pipe.

Surface Preparation

Electric drilled holes should be wire brushed in addition to air blowouts so that concrete dust can be cleared allowing for good bonding. If holes were DIAMOND CORE DRILLED, KELKEN recommends that the sides of the holes be scored which will allow the resin to develop a keying action to the concrete surface.

Shelf Life

The shelf life of KeliGrout 101-P is 6 months from date (our lot number) which is stamped on every can. Store KeliGrout 101-P at 70°f out of direct sunlight. Storage temperatures should never exceed 85°f.

Shipping

When shipping KeliGrout 101-P always use D.O.T. # Adhesive UN1133.

Hot Weather

Keep KeliGrout 101-P cool until immediately before using. An insulated cooler (and a little ice on really hot days) will do a good job. Do not let cans get wet. Keep containers of KeliGrout 101-P out of direct sunlight.

Cold Weather

Keep Kelianchor, rebar or coilrod and KeliGrout 101-P warm (70°f) until immediately before using. A 100 watt bulb enclosed in a lockup box or insulated cooler works well at the job site. Material can also be warmed under a compressor engine's cover or in a truck cab.

Dispensing

Our PowerPush battery operated gun can dispense and evenly mix two part epoxies in both hot and cold temperatures, easily surpassing traditional hand and air tools. Our traditional KeliGrout 101-P Hand Gun is also available for small jobs.

Caution

Solvents for KeliGrout 101-P are highly flammable and volatile. DO NOT SMOKE OR USE NEAR OPEN FLAME OR SPARKS.

Do not use KeliGrout 101-P in drilled or formed holes that are over 1/4" larger than anchor's diameter without contacting Kelken.

INSTALLATION

  • Fit twin cartridges into PowerPush or KeliGrout 101-P Hand Gun
  • Remove two black half-moon stoppers.
  • Fix mixing nozzle tube with retainer nut.
  • Discard initial 1-2 inches of flow from nozzle.
  • Inject directly into prepared clean hole.
  • KeliGrout 101-P can be used underwater with no adverse effects when properly installed.
  • Caution should be taken to insure that the hole, after air drilling, has no debris and all anchors should be torqued to assure proper adhesion.
  • Push anchor/dowel to the bottom of the hole rotating to ensure full wetting.
  • Do not disturb the anchor for one (1) hour, 24 hours full cure.
  • It is recommended that after 2-3 hours, review residue ensuring that material had been properly mixed.

VOLUME CHART

Always drill an exact depth hole for the embedment needed. Kelken provides approximately twice the amount of KeliGrout 101-P required to anchor each Kelli Anchoring System to the specified embedment. These amounts can be easily determined using displacement formulas.

Anchor
Diameter
Hole
Diameter
Min Inches
Per 32 oz.

1 1/81 1/4120
1 1/41 3/890
1 1/21 3/460

If you get less than the chart above shows, check for these causes:

Hole is too deep. Resin lies beneath anchor that "hangs" from nut put on before installation.

Too much resin was poured into hole. The anchor displaced surplus into "clear-hole" in material being anchored.

Too large a diameter hole was drilled. Always follow instructions as to diameter.
